CHAT Celebrates Grads of 2006/5766
With great pomp and circumstance and parents and grandparents bursting buttons with pride, CHAT celebrated its graduates, recognizing their tremendous achievements in both academics and extra-curricular activities. The speakers who offered congratulations to the graduates included Alan Applebaum (CHAT President), Lori Disenhouse (CHAT Chairperson of the Board), Ted Sokolsky (President & CEO, UJA Federation), David Godfrey (Director of Communications and Public Affairs for the Israeli Consulate), Paul Shaviv (Educational Director), Samuel Kapustin (Director of Jewish Studies), Margaret Klompas (Head of Guidance), Rabbi Eli Mandel (Vice Principal, Hebrew Studies), Helen Fox (Principal, General Studies) and Graeme Mawson (Vice Principal, General Studies). The CHAT choir provided some musical entertainment. The evening was truly a celebration of CHAT, the graduates and their families, and the CHAT faculty, who were applauded a number of times. Some highlights follow.
Valedictory Address – Lee Cohen – It was clear from the loud cheering that greeted Lee that he had huge support from his fellow graduates. By the time he finished, he had earned the respect of the entire audience.
